She is famous for her performance in the first West End production of Spamalot, the 2010 Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods, and The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). She has won three Olivier Award nominations for her work. In 2015, she joined the Game of Thrones cast as Septa Unella, the sixth season of the fifth season. In addition to her role as Septa Unella She was also an ensemble participant in the film adaptation that was made in 2012 of Les Miserables as well as the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge. Waddingham has been nominated as a Golden Globe Award nominee. She is playing the role of Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso since 2020.
